About Josh

Josh Bell (he/him) is a coach, consultant, and community leader with over two decades of experience building relationships with diverse organizations and stakeholders. His breadth of leadership expertise includes succession planning and management, inclusive environments creation, leadership development, process evaluation and improvement, community relations, and effective presentations. In addition to consulting, Josh provides coaching to emerging and established leaders to help each person find and embrace their unique and powerful voice. Josh served as a United Methodist pastor for 10 years prior to entering nonprofit and consulting work. He holds a Bachelors from the University of Florida, a Masters of Divinity degree, and a Master Certified Professional Coach certificate accredited by the International Coaching Federation.

Josh has held executive, managerial, and instructional roles in nonprofit, higher education, healthcare, and interfaith settings. Because he has been deeply involved in community leadership and advocacy for marginalized communities throughout his career, Josh understands the challenges, opportunities, and complexities leaders face every day. The inherent tensions and tradeoffs of leadership can be both incredibly rewarding and immensely draining. In order to thrive in diverse environments, leaders need space and support to process their experiences, to glean development insights, and to strategize for continued growth. These needs are why The Josh Bell Company was founded.

About The Josh Bell Company

Vision

We envision a world where healthy leaders and organizations thrive, where every person’s full potential is realized, and where systemic barriers to equitable flourishing are dismantled and discarded. Individuals are empowered to make a positive impact in their communities and the world by using their authentic voices to create meaningful change.

Mission

Our mission is to empower leaders and organizations to grow into their full potential. By co-creating coaching and consulting relationships rooted in authenticity, empathy, empowerment, cultural humility, and humor, we support our clients to achieve their greatest possible success.

Values

Authenticity - The greatest power source we can access as leaders is our own truth.

Empathy - In order to lead well, we must seek to understand the experiences and perspectives of others through a lens of judgment-free compassion.

Empowerment - As a leader’s truth is revealed and claimed, the leader can more fully step into their full confidence and authority.

Cultural Humility - Most leadership roles and structures encountered by our clients were not created with the strengths, needs, and life experiences of diverse leaders in mind. We are committed to building systems accessible to leaders with diverse, intersectional identities.

Humor - Laughter may not actually be the best medicine, but it is definitely a requirement for leadership, learning, and growth.
